HEMA appoints two members to its management team
Amsterdam, 23 March 2017. HEMA has appointed Tico Schneider as Country Director Netherlands, with responsibility for the entire Dutch store organisation. The company has also appointed British national Adrian Porteous as Director of Logistics & Supply Chain. The two new directors will also join the HEMA management team.
Tico Schneider (42) has been with HEMA for almost 17 years and during that time has held various senior management positions in commerce, operations and the franchise business. His most recent position was Head of e-commerce. Under his leadership, e-commerce was made one of the three pillars of HEMA’s strategy for the period 2016-2018. E-commerce has since recorded considerable growth and has now been rolled out actively in all countries where HEMA is active. Tico was also behind the successful launch of various initiatives, such as a fully renewed internet site for all countries and ‘in-store picking’, which enables customers to collect their order from the store within one day.

Adrian Porteous (53) has enjoyed a long career in merchandising and supply chain management. He has held various positions in the field, at leading retailers such as Woolworths, German multichannel retailer OTTO, department store Karstadt in Germany and most recently as Global EVP Merchandising, Allocation and Supply Chain for the well-known US jewellery and accessories brand Claire’s Accessories. Adrian most recent position at HEMA was Head of Supply Chain. Under his leadership, HEMA has realised a significant reduction in stocks over the past two years.
